Begin Your Journey
Classical discipline meets modern improvisation. I don't just teach the notes; I teach the "why" behind the music.
From folk traditions to technical mastery, discover the instrument that speaks your language.
Music is more than just notes on a page; it is a language of the heart. With over 35 years of dedication to the keys and the stage, I bring a lifelong passion for music to every lesson, fostering an environment that is as technically rigorous as it is warm and supportive.
My journey began in Brazil, followed by a musical upbringing just outside New York City. I first sat down at the piano at age five, and by the sixth grade, I had found my voice on stage. This dual foundation led me to Western Connecticut State University, where I formally studied both piano and voice.
My professional training was shaped by some of the finest minds in the industry:
I began my professional career at 18 and have since found my niche as a solo jazz pianist. My performances are a reflection of my trilingual heritage-fluent in English, Portuguese, and Spanish-and my deep love for the improvisational spirit of jazz.
To me, teaching is about the person, not just the instrument. Since moving to Knoxville over a decade ago, I have dedicated myself to building a vibrant musical community. My approach is holistic: I care deeply about my students' well-being and confidence, ensuring that their musical growth is supported by a kind, encouraging presence.
When I'm not at the piano or in the studio, you'll likely find me exploring the outdoors with my husband and our two children. We are proud Knoxville locals who never tire of the beauty of Great Smoky Mountains National Park. I love this city, and I love the work I do-helping students find their unique voice and rhythm in life.
At my studio, music isn't just a subject-it's a personal journey. Whether you are a parent bringing a 3-year-old for their first musical exploration or an adult returning to the keys, my mission is to provide a "lighthouse" for every student: a steady, guiding light that honors where you are and where you want to go.
Drawing from my background and certification in Kindermusik, I understand that the way a child learns is vastly different from how an adult processes music. That's why I don't believe in one-size-fits-all curriculum. Every lesson is custom-built, taking into account:
Our studio is a safe place designed for both focus and comfort. Students perform on a top-of-the-line conservatory-grade Yamaha grand piano, ensuring that from the very first note, you are hearing and feeling the highest quality of sound.
I emphasize a balance of technical skill and creative "color." My goal is to see you truly for who you are, helping you find your own voice in a space that celebrates fun, inspiration, and growth.
